Program Development under CSR

The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has gained prominence in the recent past due to a fresh governmental thrust. CSR plays a vital role in efforts to uplift the downtrodden of society and to enable a better society. In current times, the role of the private sector in national development is seen in terms of the core business of investment, Public Private Partnership (PPP), training and technology development, and through creation of partnerships and enablement of support to build the institutions, policies and local capacities needed for a sustainable economy.

As custodians of resources and capabilities, organisations fulfil their social responsibilities through active partnership with various stakeholders in the process, bringing to the table their core competencies and much needed resources. Therefore, a comprehensive multi stakeholder effort involving complementary actions of government, multilateral organisations and non-governmental organisations will be the key to realizing the social goals. From a social perspective, CSR has the potential to transform India into a developed nation. India's corporate houses can act as agents of social change and community well-being.

With the advent of section 135 of the New Companies Act, 2013, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has thrown up many new avenues. The mandate for CSR has been formally introduced to the annual agenda for the Boards of Indian companies. The industry is responding positively to this development, initiated by the Government. As a result, CSR has become a focal point of attention and involvement for Indian business leaders.

Our programmes fit into the ‘definition of the CSR’ pursuant to the section 135 read with schedule vii to the Companies Act, 2013.
